In Kokkino Nero you have the opportunity to visit the small artificial pools that run through running red water and drink the spring water. Also, you can visit the "swimming pools" located outside the village, natural holes in the rocks, from which ice water runs. You can see up close the two temples of the 12th century, which are located within the village and the castle of the Red Water, which overlooks the village from above. South, at two kilometers is the settlement of Koutsoupias overgrown by trees, pines and koutsoupies where you can swim in the crystal clear sea and enjoy the sandy beach.By car
Very close you will come across the village of Karitsa, an ornament for the area, built at a height of 250m with lush vegetation. North of the settlement, 25 km away is the Tempi valley. Visit the church of Agia Paraskevi, climb up to the famous village of Ambelakia to see the traditional village where the first cooperative was founded worldwide. South of Red Water and 12 km away Velika, Sotiritsa and Agiokampos, three seaside villages, next to each other with a common feature the 14-kilometer long beach. At the end of this beach lies the royal forest of Polydendri, a former royal estate, open to the whole world, ideal for a peaceful walk in the forest with rich flora. In Velika through a beautiful path in the forest, you can visit the castle of ancient Melivia to enjoy the panoramic view but also the magnificent monastery of Ioannis Theologos located very close to the castle.
